Tsubakiya designed / produced by Mari Hanyu
I was born in Nagoya on Jun.6th.1979.I entered ESMOD Japon in 1998. After graduation, I am engaged in the making of clothes of hair shows, children's plays and small theater companies. I worked in clothes section of Roppongi kingyo, Kokutyou no mizuumi and Garcon pub. Then, I began to make a remake work of a kimono while making stage costume Gekidanshiki, Isyoseisakukoubou and Show pub.
I started Tsubakiya in May.2005.
While I watched Japanese traditional arts and show musicals of many countries, I completely became a captive of "the stage".I love the stage costume and world of the stage making a person be half in a dream.Everyone is the leading role in one’s world.I want to make clothes that embellish people to be special like stage costume.
An antique kimono
An encounter with a kimono of an antique is treasure that will never recur.I draw a design pattern to value each story hidden in each kimono and to be able to draw the charm that the kimono lasts to the maximum. Of course, I love to wear it.
