The three fastidious principles believed by Komon Hirose, who passes the 400 year-old, historical dyeing technology of Edo komon onto today.


Edo komon is a type of komon characterized by tiny dots arranged in dense patterns form larger ones. The Edo komon dyeing technique originated with the samurai –warrior class during the Edo era.

The works are hand crafted deliberately and patiently by the top class artisans including Yubo Hirose, who is one of as few as 30 traditional craftsmen approved by the government.
