Creation of New WA

04/12/2007

The method called Batik method used for my works is supposed to be used perse for drawing patterns of Kimono or their dyeing.

Characteristics of Batik method are sharp lines caused by brush applied wax melted to the suitable temperature on silk piece goods; three dimensions emerged from combination of dyeing materials and wax.

Furthermore, technique of ombre dyeing is different from other dyeing methods in its texture and finish.

I proposed a few years ago to apply a technique of Kimono as Japanese Traditional Craft, to paintings, and ever since I have been engaged in creating my works. I gave thought to convey beauty and technique of Japanese Traditions by reflecting Batik method in my drawings, traveling every region of Japan.

Batik method comes in several different techniques and I will deal with them in my works which I am going to create, and further challenge the unknown. I will be more than happy if you would enjoy the world of a new style of WA and Batik paintings through my works.
