I love "Japan". I am proud to be Japanese and I'm happy to be born in this country. Nevertheless I like to travel because I'm curious in my nature. I want to experience new things, meet different people and hear their stories. I would like to meet you!
When I travel I experience different set of values. Often my perspective change but one thing never changes and that is "my pride of being Japanese". After traveling abroad I can strongly feel this feeling. In Japan, there are four beautiful seasons, Wabi / Sabi, beauty of words and ambiguity as aesthetics, etc. – which is hard to describe in writing.
And then it¡Çs Kimono. Though there are a lot of beautiful textiles in the world, I think that the Japanese kimono is the most beautiful in the world. I reincarnated the kimono which was not worn as new clothes. I devote a lot of attention to Kimono. This is my homage to the Japanese ancestor who built wonderful tradition and culture.
I am interested in culture of the women who lived in brothels. There were women who were called high-class prostitutes. They were leaders of fashion at that time. I am always charmed by the exceptional space and the old Japanese fragrance to be left in the red-light district. I named ¡ÈTsubakiya¡É , not only because I like camellia, but also because of "The Lady of the Camellias" which is a known opera by Verdi. The heroine Hetaera Marguerite Gautier is beautiful and refined like a lady. As a result, it was a story that would end in tragedy. I read the original of Alexandre Dumas. I was completely charmed by her beautiful life in which she was free-spirited and gorgeous in a polite society of Paris. Her life was passionate, ephemeral and gracious. I think that her way of life resembles the women who lived in a red-light district.
In the language of flowers, camellia signifies to be momentary and gracious. I bring on a gorgeous atmosphere and express ¡Èthe flores is hidden¡É in a Japanese sense of beauty. I want to create my only microcosm in the world where I packed a lot of favorite things, beautiful cloths, beads glitter and "elegance", into.
I still travel both domestic and abroad. While traveling, I like to see people¡Çs pride in their own country. Therefore I want to boast about "Japan" to the foreign people and Japanese people who have not yet noticed Japanese excellence.
